Thesis has retained Lighthouse Legal Search to conduct their General Counsel search. The General Counsel will work directly with the CEO and leadership team of Thesis. They will ensure the company operates within the law at all times, offer counsel on legal issues, be an effective guardian of the organization, manage the impact of external and regulatory factors, manage outside counsel, and leverage your professional network to recruit and consult with persons of relevant expertise. The successful candidate will be able to ensure legal compliance and limit risk exposure.
Specific tasks include, but will not be limited to, directly advising the CEO on matters of corporate and financial regulations, negotiating with high-level players in the venture capital, finance, and blockchain industries, advising on the development of cutting-edge software and financial products, and tackling companywide issues of domestic and international corporate governance.
The ideal candidate will work hand in hand with the CEO and the leadership team, as well as be the point-of-contact for US and Cayman legal counsel.
No previous cryptocurrency or blockchain experience is required for this role, but a strong interest is preferred. A background in corporate law, securities law, financial law and/or international tax law is a plus.
Negotiating, writing, and executing agreements and contracts on behalf of the company.
Offering legal counsel on a variety of issues.
Managing relationships with outside counsel.
Advising executives within the company.
Working alongside other departments within the company.
Advising on contract status, legal risks, and the legal liabilities associated with different deals.
Researching and anticipating unique legal issues that could impact the company.
Reviewing advertising and marketing materials to ensure that they are in compliance with legal requirements.
Keep abreast of relevant legislative and regulatory changes.
Providing training to the company on legal topics.

Law degree from a recognized university.
Member in good standing of a recognized bar association.
5+ years of experience gained in large law firm and/or working in-house.
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization.
Strong negotiating skills with both legal and financial/commercial issues.
Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships within the organization’s legal teams in the US and Cayman Islands and across all businesses.
Overall broad legal knowledge and interests (corporate law, litigation, etc.).
Ability to anticipate legal issues or risks and to “see around the corner.”
Ability to work independently with little supervision.
Telecommuting is allowed.
