The Corporate Attorney will work as a valued member of EA’s Legal Department supporting all teams of the business with their legal needs and reporting to EAI’s General Counsel. The Corporate Attorney is responsible for the continued growth and on-going operations of EA’s business with responsibilities in the areas of business development, operational support, process development, internal compliance, marketing support, contract negotiations, contract compliance and dispute resolution.
Essential Function and Responsibilities:
Improves and manages the overall risk profile of the Edible Arrangements® family of companies
Work with marketing team, supply chain, operations team and IT to negotiate and draft contracts with third parties to support the business
Work with franchise development team to negotiate and prepare franchise documents including, franchise agreements, transfer agreements, termination agreements, and other disclosure documents
Prepare written legal notices and other correspondence related to compliance and enforcement
Enforce operational standards and performance obligations under our agreements
Work closely with in-house legal team to support management of trademarks, litigation, franchise development, employment matters and dispute resolution
Develop and implement internal processes and procedures across business teams for legal review and approval of business initiatives, contracts and marketing plans
Promote, supervise and ensure compliance with Code of EAI’s Business conduct
Act as an objective resource influencing business leaders in assessing and managing risk
Manage and provide assistance on special projects as needed
Provide legal support and guidance to the legal department and other areas of the company as needed, including purchasing, marketing, research and development, real estate, accounting, human resources, risk management.
Law degree from accredited law school
Active license to practice law in Georgia
5+ years experience working with a major law firm or in-house for a major company
Strong knowledge of legal issues related to contract negotiation and enforcement
Strong knowledge of contract issues related to intellectual property, data, privacy, confidentiality, indemnities and franchise relationships
Willingness to work outside normal business hours to accommodate different time zones
Excellent communication skills and be a team-player with a willingness to engage issues in multiple departments.
