The Senior Vice President, Employment Law will provide executive leadership regarding all aspects of employment law issues at Lincoln Financial Group. This person will be responsible for overall employment law strategy and implementation of legal policies, procedures, and business protocols, and will work closely with key business leaders, HR and executive management throughout the company. This role will have a strong focus on strategy and business initiatives as they apply to the employment sector, and a deep understanding of the law, with the ability to communicate with senior management across the organization.
Develops and implements strategic employment law vision
Establishes employment law goals and ensures that the department is meeting its objectives
Monitors employment law trends, issues, and regulatory changes and proactively assesses and communicates advice to executive leadership on potential employment risks and impacts
Uses collaborative efforts with HR policy roll-outs, new initiatives, training programs.
Manage litigation and arbitration.
Bachelors and Law Degrees
Minimum of 15 years of progressive professional experience
Combined law firm and in-house experience
Thorough understanding of employment law
Demonstrated track record of leading an in-house legal practice
Ability to create and maintain professional relationships with HR and business leaders
Demonstrated ability to manage employment litigation and to mitigate organizational impact and manage reputational risk
Strong knowledge of the insurance and financial services industry and its laws a plus
Employer will assist with relocation costs.
