We are conducting an exclusive search for our long-standing prestigious energy client who is seeking a SUPPLY CHAIN SENIOR COUNSEL with 5-10 years experience for its Houston office. Our client is an international publicly traded corporation and an industry leader.

Serve as Supply Chain Department’s primary point of contact for drafting, reviewing and negotiating drilling, drilling service and construction contracts for Oil & Gas (domestic and international) which include amongst others:
Master Services Agreements
Master Drilling Services Agreements
Technical Services Agreements
Purchase Orders / Services Orders
Master Construction Services Agreements
Provide legal advice and counsel on a wide range of commercial contract matters including breach of contract, warranty claims and contractor disputes.
Perform contract template review and analysis of the observed risk items in light of the company policies and procedures and new developments in law.
Renegotiate legacy terms and conditions with major oil and gas services suppliers.
Work cooperatively with diverse groups of professionals, including the company’s executives, attorneys, risk and insurance managers, engineers, scientists and contracts staff, as well as the ability to work with attorneys for external clients and subcontractors, risk managers, project managers, procurement and contracts staff, and others.
Provide training to internal clients related to contracts fundamentals.
JD with strong academic record from a top tier national law school.
5-10 years of experience with strong transactional experience including agreements, contracts, commercial law, projects, mergers and acquisitions & dispositions from a top law firm.
In-house experience a plus.
A stable work history.
Licensed to practice law and in good standing in Texas or in another jurisdiction.
Demonstrated experience in the oil and gas industry is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated capability to build knowledge in new areas of law.
Ability to think strategically and to appreciate both the immediate and longer term business impacts of different legal courses of action.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to interact with, and inspire confidence in, individuals at all levels of the organization.
