Our client, a dynamic technology based company based in Silicon Valley, is seeking a software licensing attorney who will provide legal support and direction to a multi-billion dollar global software systems business unit.
Key responsibilities for this role will include the following:
-Engage and provide legal support and direction to executive management regarding automation and technology focused aftermarket business.
-Directly negotiate or oversee the negotiation, structuring, and management of contractual documents that establish business relationships with customer and third parties.
-Support and navigate a wide range of legal issues including, but not limited to, antitrust, intellectual property (creation, management, enforcement and infringement), licensing, application of international law, EH&S, and regulatory compliance
-Engagement with internal IP and litigation counsel to enable IP procurement and enforcement strategies that drive meaningful impact to the business.
-Actively advise, develop and manage copyright strategies for software and data analytic business.
-Lead and contribute to the development of business processes and policies to better enable achievement of business objectives, mitigate risk, reduce inefficiencies and improve effectiveness
-Collaborate and drive change management programs in a matrix managed organization
Candidates must have the following qualifications to be considered:
-Five plus years of legal experience in a major law firm and/or multinational company with a focus on software licensing and other aspects of a software focused business
-Patent, copyright (software), trade secrets and trademarks
-Ability to analyze and summarize large amounts of data in relatively short periods
-Agreements involving IP provisions, including JDAs and research agreements
-Excellent negotiation skills including first-hand experience of leading negotiations with parties across multiple jurisdictions
Additional Salary Information: A strong compensation package, including equity, will be offered.
