We are looking for well-qualified and dynamic attorneys in the San Francisco Bay Area with experience in payments to assist our clients on engagements, from part time to full time.
Providing legal and regulatory expertise on payment products and services
Conducting legal review and provide support of online, mobile and other digital platforms that deliver financial services (including cryptocurrency and blockchain)
Supporting new product development and implementation, including collaborating with engineering teams, advising on privacy by design, and drafting and negotiating agreements for strategic partnerships
Drafting legal documents and memos
3-8 years’ relevant experience (either in-house or with a law firm) in the payments industry
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in payments, with demonstrated experience in (1) commercial and retail payment products and systems, including ACH and card network rules, (2) FINTECH innovation and emerging digital technologies, and (3) laws and regulations impacting payments and financial services, including third party risk management and federal and state money transmission laws
Experience advising on revenue recognition in both SaaS and traditional business models
Familiar with the payments industry (including PCD-DSS and EMV compliance), data monetization and analytics including digital coupons, digital offers and consumer level analytics.
Hard working, well-organized and able to manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressures
Willingness to learn new legal subject matter areas as needed
Ability to seek creative, innovative solutions for complex business matters
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability and desire to build relationships with others
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
D. from a top tier school and excellent academic credentials
Must be a member in good standing with the State Bar of California
