Counsel III, Labor and Employment
In this role, you will advise on the application of labor and employment law and legal risk to Kaiser Permanente’s business operations. At least seven years of experience as an attorney in a law firm, company, or in government in one or more legal specialties
A bachelor’s degree
A juris degree
State Bar license
Membership in local Bar association
The ability to demonstrate skillful insight into critical business problems and emerging legal issues
The proven ability to render timely and sound legal advice within applicable legal principles
The ability to maintain current knowledge of specialty area
Preferred Qualifications Include:
Substantial experience and knowledge of the Labor Management Relations Act (LMRA) including advising and representing clients on labor issues before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB)
Substantial experience and knowledge advising and representing clients in wage and hour compliance
Experience in advising and representing clients in both traditional and labor management cooperation environments and labor management trust funds
Experience in the health care industry
Experience advising complex organizations with interaction between multiple legal entities
Senior Counsel, Labor and Employment
In this role, you will represent the program in traditional labor and employment laws.
Membership in the California Bar and excellent academic and professional qualifications. JD required
At least twelve years of experience providing legal advice and representation on traditional labor law and employment discrimination law, including complex disability and leave issues
Experience practicing in federal and/or state court and before federal and state regulators and administrative agencies, including the EEOC and the DFEH
Experience in the health care industry
Excellent written and oral advocacy skills and strong interpersonal skills
Familiarity with occupational safety and health, wage and hour law, and public policy/whistleblowing retaliation laws is preferred
