Corporate Generalist, General Commercial/Contracts
Our client is a multi-billion dollar technology driven business unit of a Fortune 100 company, seeking an experienced attorney to manage all legal affairs in the MERTA (Middle East, Russia, Turkey and Africa) region. The General Counsel will be responsible for the implementation of excellent contractual arrangements with all external business partners in the region, will anticipate and mitigate potential legal problems and develop strategies to avoid costly litigation and reduce potential areas of risk. This role will partner with the regional leadership, advise on a broad range of legal and compliance matters and ensure that appropriate risk management strategies are in place.
Responsibilities include the following: -Support the local leadership by providing general commercial advice on specific or proposed transactions -Partner closely with key legal functions to implement projects and initiatives, among them, Antitrust, Data Privacy, Finance, Government Relations, Human Resources, Integrated Supply Chain, Integrity & Compliance, Procurement, Real Estate, and Tax -Directly participate in the review, drafting and negotiation of a broad range of commercial agreements -Manage disputes and develop strategies to avoid costly litigation -Partner with regional management in analyzing risks and proposing solutions to manage those risks
Candidates must have the following qualifications in order to be considered: -Seven to ten years of progressive experience with a major law firm and/or corporation -Fluent in Arabic and English -A sound and enthusiastic leader with strong interpersonal and influencing skills -Excellent communication skills including effective written, verbal and presentation skills
