Bliss Lawyers is seeking a GDPR attorney to work in the Chicago office of a commercial real estate company. While a Chicago-based attorney is strongly preferred, candidates based on Dallas and Los Angeles will also be considered. Qualified candidates will have at least seven years of legal experience and one year of GDPR experience, including experience reviewing Article 28 data processing agreements, building elements of a GDPR compliance program and completing Article 30 ROPAs. A CIPP/E certification is strongly preferred. US privacy law experience is a plus, in addition to any operational experience in the privacy field. The attorney hired for this role will be responsible for reviewing data processing agreements under the GDPR, assisting with the implementation of the Company's GDPR compliance program, assisting with the Company's CCPA compliance efforts, and handling other duties, as assigned. Admission to the state bar in which the candidate is located is required. This is a full-time (50 hours per week), temporary role that is expected to last three to six months and may extend or convert to become a permanent position with the company. Interviews will begin immediately and the position will begin in the beginning of February 2019.
