If you are searching for a company where you can make a difference, we're looking for you. In this role, you will work closely with our medical products business teams in support of intellectual property (IP) related counseling, and provide patent litigation management support across all divisions. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive IP legal advice, aligned with business objectives, and will assess and advise on options and actions concerning product positioning within current and projected IP landscapes. The candidate will participate actively in IP strategy development, including risk mitigation alternatives consistent with business strategies, and be part of our patent litigation team handling patent litigation including managing outside counsel, budgeting, billing, and client reporting. Strong client counseling skills will be implicated.
The position is ideally located in Arizona (either Phoenix or Flagstaff), but is global in scope. For the right candidate, we would consider a remote work arrangement if there is a willingness to do increased travel.
The ideal candidate will:

Recognize the importance of building and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships
Juris Doctor (J.D.) Admitted to a U.S. state bar as an active member Minimum 7 years of relevant patent counseling and litigation experience Prior experience: Creating IP strategies, solving IP-related business problems, and counseling on IP risk mitigation Working with medical device markets and related IP issues, including litigation Demonstrated expertise in the area of litigation, client counseling, dispute resolution, and negotiation Demonstrated knowledge of patent laws, patent office procedures, and litigation procedures Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills Flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
