Corporate Generalist, General Commercial/Contracts, Technology
The Director and Senior Corporate Counsel role is one of a generalist with emphasis on advising the marketing and advertising business and/or advising on bringing new products to market. The role will work closely with senior management cross-functionally. The individual will be responsible for ensuring the company’s marketing and advertising programs comply with Company regulations and applicable laws and/or providing review and counsel for new product initiatives, including contract development. The Director and Senior Corporate Counsel will also serve as part of a team that is responsible for supporting the Company’s primary business unit, which provides technology services. It is expected that in time the role would transition to managing one or more attorneys.
The successful candidate will:
Be part of a team responsible for providing the primary legal support to the global marketing and product organizations, as well as the clients primary line of business, including providing legal support for new product initiatives, marketing and channel rebate programs and domestic and international marketing and advertising content activities
Review new products, features and initiatives and provide advice consistent with client's legal obligations in multiple jurisdictions
Review and analyze marketing and advertising content for compliance with domestic and international laws and regulations
Monitor and maintain general awareness of pending regulation that is relevant to the company’s business interests
Ensure that the General Counsel and other senior members of the Law Department are kept apprised of material developments and matters on a timely basis
As requested, lead special projects and initiatives that will require advising the General Counsel, other members of the legal department and senior management on a broad range of legal matters
In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to:

Our client seeks an outstanding professional with at least 10 years of legal experience and significant depth in commercial contracts, with a preference for experience in the technology sector, and some familiarity with marketing agreements. Ideally he or she would have foundational experience handling a range of transactional matters and similar in-house experience ideally with a company providing technology services. The individual should have experience with extensive contract drafting and advisory responsibilities. A background in advertising content/review is also desired, but not required.

J.D. or equivalent degree from accredited law school
8-10 years of related legal experience in corporate law department and/or law firm or equivalent
Several years of in-house experience with contract drafting and negotiation and marketing/advertising
