A Day in the Life of an Associate Corporate Counsel specializing in Employment Law: You would be responsible for providing counsel and support to the Associate General Counsel and the organization with respect to labor and employment legal matters and other corporate legal functions as necessary.
Provides advice and counsel on all aspects of day-to-day employment-related matters, including but not limited to hiring and termination issues, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, reasonable accommodations, leaves of absence, wage and hour issues, restrictive covenants, employee investigations, implementation of policies and procedures, risk assessments, and employment law training.
Investigates and works in conjunction with outside counsel to represent the Company in employment matters at the federal, state, and administrative level (EEOC, DOL and state and local agencies). Prepares and/or assists outside counsel in the preparation of position statements.
Represents the Company in mediations, arbitrations and settlement negotiations.
Manages employment litigation, facilitates discovery, and consults with the Associate General Counsel on developing strategies and key decisions.
Maintains all files in Docket System and ensures same are complete and up-to-date.
Reviews involuntary terminations and drafts separation packages.
Researches and advises the Company on leave management, Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, FCRA, ADEA, USERRA, NLRA, and other labor and employment legal obligations.
Prepares and conducts employment law training programs for Human Resources and Management.
Assists in the drafting, implementation and enforcement of internal policies and procedures related to employment issues to ensure compliance with all domestic and international laws, regulations, and legal standards ensuring the Company's compliance with same.
Works with the Associate General Counsel to ensure outside counsel resources and legal fees are kept within budgetary commitments.
Provides advice to Field on client-related complaints involving legal threats and investigates and responds to client-related attorney demands. Maintains all files in Docket System and ensures same are complete and up-to-date.

What You'll Need:
Juris Doctorate degree from accredited law school with current admission in "good standing" in a state Bar, preferably Florida.
Substantive expertise in U.S. and Canadian employment law with significant knowledge of California employment law preferred.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to think strategically and evaluate potential risks, including economic, legal and reputational.
Ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.
Ability to work in fast-paced environment on multiple projects, being able to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines.
Ability to provide guidance to support staff, as necessary.
Ability to self-motivate and be a team player, displaying a cooperative work style and positive attitude.
Bilingual (Spanish, French, Japanese) a plus
