A well respected automotive group is seeking a full-time attorney with 3 to 5 years of experience dealing with contract drafting and review, real estate transactions, and employment law to join our Legal, Compliance, and Human Resources team. Automotive or retail experience is a plus
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Reviewing and negotiating a variety of contracts and agreements while overseeing and conducting legal due diligence and coordinating with business, human resource, compliance, sales, and management groups to implement transactions.
Providing support on matters relating to regulatory compliance, employment law, and real estate transactions.
Staying abreast industry specific regulations and legal matters and assists in ensuring that appropriate risk management strategies are in place.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Law degree from an accredited law school
Admission to California State Bar
Prefer a minimum of 3-5 years as a practicing lawyer, preferably with both a well-regarded law firm and/or a corporation, with experience in employment law, privacy law, real estate transactions, and contract drafting and review. Experience dealing with applicable automotive, dealership, and retail laws and regulations is a huge plus.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills including the ability to explain complex legal and financial concepts concisely and effectively to non-lawyers.
Proven ability to apply legal requirements in the context of business objectives.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong aptitude for client service.
Highly organized, with appropriate time-management skills to multi-task and work quickly and collaboratively, often under tight deadlines.
