Serves as Assistant General Counsel of OhioHealth providing legal consultation and advice to OhioHealth, its subsidiaries and affiliates. Provides quality advice, recommendations and legal counsel to the organization in a timely and efficient manner. Specifically, this position will be responsible for a wide variety of matters related to hospital and healthcare business operations including healthcare transactions (including mergers and acquisitions), joint ventures, IT, real estate and other healthcare strategy and business development matters. The successful candidate will have a strong corporate law background with a focus and comfort level with healthcare’s regulatory framework including Stark and federal/state fraud and abuse laws. Focused experience in real estate, IT and business transactions all a plus. Responsible for keeping the General Counsel, System Vice President and Associate General Counsel and various executives/officers within the company apprised of significant legal issues. This position requires an individual with an undergraduate and Juris Doctor degree from a recognized national school of law with a superior academic record and a license to practice in the State of Ohio (or receives license within 12 months of employment and has some familiarity with Ohio law). Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a law firm, governmental agency or in-house legal department (or combination thereof) with significant experience in healthcare, transactional and regulatory law.
