Our client, a successful and growing company operating in the financial services industry, has exclusively engaged us to assist them in hiring a lawyer whose primary role will involve supporting the company’s sophisticated investment fund formation practice as an integral part of the company’s investment management and advisory business. The attorney in this role will manage two other attorneys who, all together as a team, will work on various fund formation matters, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating private fund LP agreements, investment management and advisory agreements, private placement memoranda and subscription documents, side letters, and various other transactional documents related to private fund formation and investor transactions. Some compliance and regulatory matters will also be managed by the successful candidate. The lawyer will be part of a small and high quality law department and will report directly to the General Counsel. Our client believes that the successful candidate will have at least 10 years of relevant experience gained while working in a sophisticated law firm and/or law department setting. The experience must include sophisticated private fund formation experience. Important for the role will be a natural and strong inclination for teamwork and cooperation.
