Ciena seeks an experienced Senior Corporate Counsel who will serve as the primary legal resource for the Company’s Blue Planet software and software-related services business. This individual will be responsible for providing advice and support on a wide range of legal and business matters relating to the strategy and operations of this business, including the development and implementation of evolving commercial and licensing models to support the sale of software and related services.
The successful candidate will have 6-8+ years’ experience with a law firm and/or a corporate legal department supporting a software-related services business. Candidates must be a member in good standing of at least one state bar association. Significant experience drafting and negotiating a wide range of software-related commercial and technology agreements, including software licenses and professional services agreements in support of sales is required. SaaS or turnkey service experience is a plus.
Ciena is very flexible about telecommuting and this person can work remotely on a full-time basis from anywhere. If the candidate prefers to be based out of an office, they can be resident in the Hanover, MD, Austin, TX, and San Jose, CA offices.
