KLA-Tencor seeks a self-motivated employment lawyer to join its busy legal team in supporting a growing global business. This position will report to the Associate General Counsel, Global Employment Law. The primary responsibility will be to provide pragmatic advice & counsel in a timely & responsive manner on a broad range of employment law issues including hiring, benefits, employee relations, performance management, discipline, termination, restructuring, leaves of absence, accommodations, EEO compliance, wage & hour compliance, immigration, non-competition restrictions, IP protection, & data privacy. Responsibilities will include:
Guiding compliance with federal, state, & local laws
At least 5 years’ experience practicing employment law with a firm or in-house
Strong academic record & J.D. from an ABA accredited law school
Active Bar status
Broad-based knowledge of & experience counseling on federal & multi-state employment laws
Knowledge of laws relating to contingent workers, data privacy, non-competition covenants, & IP protection
Ability to identify & balance legal & business interests effectively
Ability to work independently & collaboratively with personnel at all levels of the organization to develop & implement practical solutions
Strong written & verbal communication skills & a proven ability to communicate in a clear, concise, & professional manner with all levels of personnel about complex issues
Strong initiative, analytical skills, & sound legal & business judgment
Strong organizational & project management skills, attention to detail, & the ability to influence across all levels of the organization
Ability to juggle multiple matters simultaneously, prioritize work effectively, & provide timely solutions in a busy, fast-paced environment
