Reporting to the General Counsel and as the Corporate Counsel - Generalist, you will be a strong generalist able to tackle a wide variety of matters and possess a pragmatic and flexible approach to solving complex legal and business issues as DBV prepares for its initial BLA submission and potential product launch. You will be a strategic partner for several business areas in our corporate headquarters in Paris as well as our US organization, and as DBV expands its global footprint, the Canadian and Australian businesses.
Provide day-to-day advice on legal and business issues typical to a clinical-stage biopharma company which is rapidly growing with primary emphasis on negotiating and drafting commercial agreements including: distribution, manufacturing/supply, market access, healthcare professionals, assorted vendors/consultants and licensing transactions
Act as lead counsel to key internal clients such as Commercial, Business Development and R&D
Assist the General Counsel in managing all legal matters including unfair trade practices, employment matters, corporate governance and litigation and in building the department’s infrastructure, policies and processes and driving major projects as needed
Manage external counsel to ensure high-quality representation and work product in a cost-effective manner.
Regularly update clients on relevant legal developments in their areas of business and provide training as needed
J.D. required plus an active license to practice law in any state
5+ years of relevant experience within the life sciences industry
Experience engaging with Commercial, Business Development and R&D teams preferred
Understanding of intellectual property and intellectual property-related protections, rights, obligations, and liabilities
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including positive negotiation
Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
