Provide leadership and guidance on a broad range of legal matters impacting daily operations of the business
Set the strategy for litigation matters and manage outside counsel on litigation and corporate matters
Contract drafting and review in support of Kareo’s business development, operations, products and services
Advise on compliance with HIPAA, data privacy and other regulations applicable to the business
Extensive experience in dispute resolution with customers, employees, partners, and vendors
Oversee responses to customer-related and other subpoena requests from government entities
Advise the leadership team and human resources on employment-related matters
Proactive identification, mitigation and management of legal and compliance risks in the business
Provide training to Kareo employees and managers on legal matters impacting their day-to-day work
Proven track record as General Counsel or senior legal leader at a successful B2B SaaS / Cloud software business
Ability to work well with employees and managers at all levels within Kareo
Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Strong ability to balance legal risk with business objectives
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Must have a JD from an accredited law school and be admitted to practice in California
Experience with legal matters in the healthcare industry is preferred but not required
