The Senior Attorney – Environmental will assist in the conduct of litigation and other matters relating to environmental and safety regulatory issues matters. The role will advise internal clients regarding legislative and regulatory requirements in these areas. In addition, the Senior Attorney will direct and collaborate with outside counsel.
This position will require some travel 20%, which may increase during emergency responses or special projects.

Subject Matter Expertise in Matters Involving Environmental and Safety Regulations 50%
Work with internal clients on projects, compliance with regulations and other matters as assigned
Establish, maintain and strengthen working relationships with clients and outside counsel
Manage outside counsel
Perform special projects and assignments as needed
Legal Writing 20%
Draft pleadings, legal memoranda, reports, transactional and other documents, as requested
Review work product of outside counsel
Work with business units to produce strategic documents that reflect legal advice
Provide legal research and analysis on key issues as requested
Monitor and report on industry issues and potential impact on Company
Monitor and report on regulatory developments and potential impact on Company and recommend appropriate legal action in response
Emergency Response 10%
Participate as requested in emergency response activities, including any preparatory activities such as drills and respond as necessary as legal representative in crisis situations.
Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school
7+ years transaction legal experience with a concentration in environmental and safety matters
Membership in the State Bar Association as an attorney qualified to practice law in Georgia
Deep knowledge of federal, state and local laws, particularly with respect to environmental and safety-related regulatory matters
General litigation experience
In-house legal experience
