The Legal Counsel will be responsible for a variety of legal matters related to the Company's shopping center portfolio, including leasing, acquisitions, dispositions, property management and other operational matters and litigation management. Experience in the shopping center industry is preferred but not required.
As ShopCore Properties' Legal Counsel, one is held accountable to, however not limited to, the following job functions:
Negotiate and draft leases and related documents including amendments, assignments and SNDAs.
Draft documents and review and coordinate due diligence in connections with acquisitions and dispositions of real estate.
Negotiate and draft other contracts such as broker’s agreements, marketing and license agreements, confidentiality agreements and consulting agreements.
Address operational matters arising at the company’s shopping center locations including tenant disputes, easement modifications, condemnation proceedings, and construction issues and liens.
Assume additional responsibilities as needed or directed.
J.D. and Bar Admission
5-7 years of relevant experience
Intermediate-level command of drafting leases and handling acquisition and disposition transactions.
Superior analytical skills in interpreting contract provisions.
Strong organizational skills.
Success in multi-tasking while maintaining a strong attention to detail and desire to perform projects and actions with the highest quality results.
Maintaining personal skills and establishing relationships in order to advance professional networks and facilitate communication both within and outside the company.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to prioritize, work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines.
Demonstrated self-starter, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to be proactive and demonstrate initiative in projects and tasks.
Ability to expand areas of knowledge and learn new skills as circumstances require.
High degree of integrity.
Experience in the shopping center industry is preferred but not required.
Work performed in a general office environment. May require extended hours.
