Provide legal advice and represent the Company on matters relating to environmental, health and safety matters. Will work closely advising business departments and executives.
• Develop a deep and expert understanding of the company’s products, services and business model. • Build strong relationships with company executives, business development team, and other internal clients. • Exceptional analytical skills, integrity, and judgment regarding both legal and business issues • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to support a wide range of internal clients
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide legal advice on environmental regulatory, compliance, enforcement and transactional matters. • Advise on product issues, quality investigations and, if warranted, on every aspect of implementing appropriate field actions, including recalls. • Advise on government inquiries and investigations and help the company provide clear, robust, timely, and transparent responses to the regulators. • Advise on all environmental matters for facilities. • Advise on worker health and safety including State and Federal OSHA compliance. • Advise on hazardous materials and pipeline safety (PHMSA regulations, NFPA 58, integrity management) compliance. • Provide preventative education and training to corporate and field employees. • Prepare correspondence, legal memoranda, and written reports to management. • Participate in national and regional initiatives as valued member of company functional teams.
Education and Experience Required:
• JD from a top law school; member of a State Bar in good standing • 8+ years of environmental, health and safety matters experience. Law firm and in-house experience preferred. • Experience/working knowledge of the major federal safety and environmental laws including: Occupational Safety and Health Act, Pipeline Safety Act, Resource Conservation & Recovery Act, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act and Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation & Liability Act. • Specific experience with energy matters preferred
