Our client is a global hi-tech manufacturer and an iconic brand in its industry. Due to very strong business performance, this corporation is seeking to add an experienced government contracts attorney to the legal department of one of its best known businesses. The successful candidate will join a skilled government contracts legal team to provide advice and counsel on all aspects of the complex government procurement programs this company is engaged in with US and foreign government customers. Responsibilities are comprehensive and can typically include:
Provide strategic advice and counsel to senior management on assigned programs and help shape business initiatives, mitigate risk, and improve processes.
Provide direction on domestic and international sales initiatives and proposals
Negotiate and draft key contracts and agreements with US and foreign government customers.
Advise on teaming, partnership and supplier relationships
Advise on performance issues involving such issues as accounting, cost reimbursement, contract compliance, etc.
Provide leadership on bid protests, internal investigations, business practices, compliance and the resolutions of disputes and litigation-oriented matters.
Provide broader corporate counsel to internal domestic and international operations, as may be needed.
This is an excellent career opportunity for the attorney seeking to build upon his or her technical government contracts experience to become a skilled global business lawyer supporting a growing and fast paced government procurement business.
Our client seeks attorney candidates with 5 -12 years experience in a sophisticated government contracts law practice (either litigation- or transaction-focused) within a law firm, in-house or JAG environment. Experience with major DoD procurements is a strong plus. Facility with FAR/DFARS and well-developed client counseling skills are important for this position.
