We are conducting an exclusive search for our long-standing energy client who is seeking a COMPLIANCE OFFICER/ATTORNEY with a minimum of 5 years experience for its Houston office. Our energy client is an international publicly traded corporation and an industry leader.
The attorney hired will support the company-wide Ethics & Compliance Program and assist in ensuring that policies, procedures, guidance, and standards are developed, implemented and maintained to prevent illegal, unethical or improper conduct. This position will report to the Director of Ethics & Compliance and collaborate with other legal and compliance personnel.

The ideal candidate will have experience in implementing compliance program initiatives, as well as a robust understanding of legal, ethics and compliance related subject matters such as anti-bribery, economic and trade sanctions, anti-boycott, conflicts of interest and internal investigations.
Policies & Procedures
Assist in updating ethics and compliance program policies or procedures.
Coordinate with other corporate shared services (HR, Procurement, Finance, Information Technology, Security, etc.) in order to implement ethics and compliance initiatives.
Communication & Training
Assist with creating subject matter training presentations on issues/topics embodied in the Code of Business Conduct and relevant ethics and compliance related policies.
Train employees and other personnel on company’s policies and procedures either independently or cooperatively with others.
Keep current with compliance best practices and recent case law.
Respond to senior management, employee and contractor questions regarding compliance.
Reporting & Investigations
Conduct internal investigations, including conducting interviews and draft reports, into various alleged policy or law violations in all areas covered by the Code of Business Conduct.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors when necessary to provide information or cooperate in an investigation.
Risk Management & Compliance Approvals
Conduct due diligence, assess and document risk in connections with matters raised directly to the Compliance Officer for compliance approvals, including:
