Godfrey & Kahn’s Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Team offers significant experience in the dynamic, cutting edge and ever-evolving area of data privacy and cybersecurity. The Data Privacy Associate’s role is to assist advising clients on cybersecurity and data privacy issues with a growing team of shareholders and associates, in all phases of the practice group’s work, with a primary focus on counseling clients on information privacy and security best practices. Our team advises clients on a full spectrum of legal matters including proactive cybersecurity and privacy compliance planning, breach response, regulatory investigation and litigation management.
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience as a junior or mid-level associate at a leading law firm or comparable in-house counsel position Computer science, data science, engineering or other technical background Certified Information Privacy Professional
Certification (i.e. CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM)
Experience in digital forensics, cyber-incident response, ethical hacking, website security, privacy program implementation, or software programming
Superior organizational and time management skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills and comfort with telephonic and face-to-face communications
Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team
Proven ability to work within fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines and demands both internally and externally
Interest in a joyful, collaborative, intellectually stimulating environment with a keen desire to contribute to team and client success
