The incumbent will have front-line responsibility for providing employment and human resource related legal services and advice to the organization’s business in North America. Incumbent will serve as the department’s primary point of contact for all businesses and functions (such as the Human Resources department) in North America. Incumbent’s background, experience, demeanor, service excellence, and input (including input from the business) will be among the key factors in determining incumbent’s success in the role. Among Incumbent’s responsibilities will be to advise the business on all employment related matters involving its associates in North America including the handling of employment related claims, engaging and managing external counsel when and where necessary as well as the drafting and implementation of employment related policies, risk mitigation actions, and training among other topics and issues.
Represent the Company’s interest in handling employment related claims; drafting and implementing employment related policies and procedures (with the input and support of the business)
Become a trusted advisor to the business and serve as the primary legal support for day-to-day employment and HR related legal matters.
Reduce external counsel expenditures where appropriate, particularly as regards employment matters.
Licensed attorney with at least 8 years experience
Private practice training (3 years)
