The International Game Technology PLC Legal Department is seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to serve as Vice President & Deputy General Counsel to lead the legal team supporting IGT’s North American gaming and lottery business segments and the intellectual property team. The position will be located in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Deputy General Counsel will report to the Senior Vice President and General Counsel of IGT and provide strategic and proactive legal advice and assistance in connection with (i) the commercial activities of the North American gaming and lottery business units throughout the value chain, (ii) other legal matters related to the relevant business units in collaboration with corporate functional legal support resources such as litigation, employment, regulatory and M&A, and (iii) intellectual property and IGT’s outbound intellectual property licensing program.
Providing leadership to the team of legal professionals supporting the North American gaming and lotter business units and the intellectual property function.
Provide leadership and management of IGT’s outbound intellectual property licensing program.
Providing strategic and tactical legal advice in connection with the drafting, negotiation, and review of a wide variety of contracts and agreements, including gaming contracts and licensing agreements, business partner agreements, service agreements, finance agreements, purchase and sale agreements, licensing agreements and development agreements.
Identify and advise on potential legal risks, and propose alternative and creative approaches to achieve goals.
Manage and partner with outside counsel engaged to represent the company on contract, transactional, regulatory and other issues involving the company.
Work directly with business executives on legal matters as assigned.
Ensure company compliance with legal and contractual requirements.
Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels
Ability to draft and revise complex legal documents
Good judgment and business acumen with respect to complex matters
Extensive transactional experience working in a law firm or related experience as in-house counsel
Extensive experience leading large cross-functional legal teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Extensive in gaming or other regulated industries
Extensive experience in intellectual property, including patents, trademarks and intellectual property licensing programs.
15+ years of relevant experience
JD Degree and admission to at least one state Bar
Ability to travel as necessary to meet job demands
