Globalization Partners is looking for a Junior Global Employment Counsel to join our dynamic legal team. The Junior Global Employment Counsel will report directly to the General Counsel and will work alongside the Associate General Counsel who handles global employment matters. Roles & Responsibilities
Provide advice and counsel to the Client Services team on general employment law issues, including consideration and implementation of policies and procedures
Conduct legal research to ensure we are providing our employer of record services in accordance with best practices in all of the locations where we conduct our business
Partner in selecting and managing outside counsel for employment issues globally
Work with outside counsel on employment disputes and litigation and help move the process through resolution
Work closely with business partners and consult when necessary to apply and communicate contract policies, processes and procedures when negotiating and executing contracts
Assist with the company’s global data privacy and data protection efforts
Assist the client services team with international employment law and contract matters
Develop and suggest innovative solutions to complex legal issues
Develop and implement internal practices and policies to achieve compliance with applicable laws and regulations at the state, federal, and international levels
Assorted other legal team projects to address the needs of a global, high-growth company
Law degree and admission in good standing to the Massachusetts State Bar (other state bar admissions will be considered)
4-8 years of experience in employment law in a corporate and/or law firm setting with an emphasis on the following specialty areas: employment, litigation, compliance issues, contract negotiation, and data privacy. Excellent written and oral communication skills
International experience working with global organizations is highly desirable
Energetic and creative problem-solver with superior interpersonal and client-management skills
Must be flexible, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize competing deadlines
Strong desire to be a direct contributor in a dynamic and collaborative working environment
Ability to speak multiple languages is a plus
