South Florida healthcare service company is seeking a General Counsel for its South Florida headquarters. General Counsel will report into the CEO and will have 10+ years of healthcare and corporate experience providing leadership, knowledge, expertise and independent oversight in legal and risk management activities for the Company.
General Counsel will also be responsible for providing advice on regulatory and compliance issues, including Medicare and Medicaid requirements and reimbursement, anti-kickback issues, Stark law, and various other federal and state healthcare regulations. General Counsel will be responsible for drafting and negotiating contracts; supporting M&A activities and providing leadership on legal integration activities; and negotiating payer agreements for managed care services. 10 + years of legal experience, preferably at a top law firm followed by in-house positions of successively increasing responsibility
Substantial experience with Healthcare laws and regulations including AKS, STARK, CMP, HIPAA and Florida laws and regulations is required
Knowledge of managed care and specifically Medicare Advantage are a plus
Knowledge of and experience with healthcare transactions and M&A
