Our client, a diversified global company, seeks an attorney for the position of Commercial Counsel. This position is based in Research Triangle Park (RTP), North Carolina. This Commercial Counsel will serve as a key member of a team of legal advisors to the businesses within the Agricultural Solutions and Bioscience Research Groups in RTP, and support businesses/functions under the direction of and in support of Senior Counsels.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Leveraging your legal education and professional experience, particularly in commercial contract negotiation and drafting, you will provide support to business stakeholders in contract interpretation, as well as preparation, review, and negotiation.
At least 8 + years’ of legal experience, including significant and proven commercial negotiation and drafting experience of domestic commercial matters is required.
Your experience with Agriculture Crop Protection and/or Seed Industry experience is highly desirable.
Your exposure to one or more of the following areas—U.S. Antitrust/Competition law; Agency and Distribution business models; Mergers and Acquisitions and/or integration support; Operations/Contract Manufacturing; Marketing and Communications programs and promotions, Sweepstakes; Dispute Resolution, Collections, Bankruptcy—will be a valued asset as you will identify issues requiring support of specialized functions (e.g., patent, labor, litigation, regulatory) to coordinate delivery of support to stakeholders.
Using your interpersonal skills, you will serve as an advisor to business managers and corporate function stakeholders.
Your ability to understand, assess, and communicate “big picture” legal and commercial concepts will be essential as you manage and support business stakeholders.
