Verisign is seeking an experienced attorney to play a vital role in the Law Department’s support to the company on employment and transactional matters at the direction of the Vice President, Associate General Counsel.
Advise on employment matters and serve as primary legal support to the Human Resources Department.
Draft and negotiate a variety of complex commercial agreements.
Advise on privacy and related compliance matters.
Demonstrate cross-functional leadership and effective team-building skills inside and outside the Law Department.
Between five and fifteen years’ legal experience.
Employment law experience; human resources counseling skills.
Experience drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements.
Experience with general IP issues is a plus.
Experience with privacy laws and regulations is a plus.
Aptitude to quickly absorb new information with highly developed interpersonal skills is a must.
Ability to multi-task and handle multiple complex matters simultaneously is a must.
Demonstrated leadership, team-work and team-building skills.
Strong business acumen with an acute understanding of the balance between risk and reward.
J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school.
Member in good standing of a state bar (and eligible for admission to the Virginia bar or as a Virginia Corporate Counsel).
