JOB SUMMARY: A primary focus of the position will be representation of the Spectrum Community Solutions (MDU) regional and national sales groups. In that capacity, will work closely with the sales team in ensuring consistent legal redlines related to contract development including reviewing RFP responses. Implement, as needed, consistent supportive legal approaches aligned with business approaches matching national legal approach. Provides legal advice related to issues related to enforcing sales agreements related to marketing and/or marketing violations. Interacts with salesforce and contract upgraded tool for all required redlines. Meet with the client as needed to educate as to wiring and/or marketing issues with an understanding of federal and state laws. Supports legal operations in the negotiation and preparation of various agreements for the Spectrum Community Solutions team. Must be able to consistently handle a high volume of contract volume and deals including support for sales and field operations business teams.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: - Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer contract sales experience. - Researches legal principles and precedents related to federal and state law and municipal ordinances affecting sales contracts. - Gathers relevant related information and drafts, negotiates, and prepares legal contracts supporting regional and national sales teams on a high volume basis. - Advises legal and sales management on legal matters and ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations. - Builds a cooperative relationship with sales and operations teams to develop solutions to problems presented. - Fields and answers questions from business units concerning legal topics related to contract execution and other assigned areas including contract breach and easement issues. - Negotiates and drafts business agreements. Meets continually with business clients. - Evaluates existing policies, procedures and applicable training for the Spectrum Community Solutions business unit consistent with developed policies. - Interprets laws, rulings, and regulations related to same business unit. Coordinates and manages outside counsel as needed. - Keeps informed of industry-specific regulations and ensures that appropriate risk management strategies are in place. - Works to proactively identify and address key legal issues for legal team and management. - Prepares and presents compliance and legal briefing to management if needed.
Education - Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school - Admission to Colorado State Bar in which Attorney practices
Related Work Experience - 5+ years experience in general business legal issues in the cable or technology industries - 5+ years experience with contract negotiation and redlining - 5+ Corporate in-house experience
