Indiana Municipal Power Agency, a wholesale electric generating and transmission company located in Carmel, Indiana is looking for a Staff Counsel to assist with its in-house legal needs.
Responsibilities include providing legal advice regarding the utility industry and legislation, preparing and reviewing contracts and legal documents, and participating in regulatory proceedings. Primary focus for this position will be to provide advice on state and federal regulatory proceedings before the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (“IURC”) or Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (“FERC”) and monitoring other federal regulatory bodies.
Experience with the IURC or FERC preferred. Familiarity with MISO or PJM a plus. J.D from accredited law school is required, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Indiana within six months of hire.
