Washington metro area based global corporation seeks experienced employment attorney to support its diverse range of business lines and products. This position will report to the company’s lead employment attorney within the office of general counsel.
Responsibilities can be organized into three categories: (1) counseling/advisory, (2) internal investigations and (3) litigation. In general, the AGC’s role is to provide management and human resources professionals with business-oriented legal counsel on all aspects of employment-related matters, including issues related to Title VII, the ADA, the FLSA, FMLA, SCA and all other federal and state employment laws, internal employment law/EEO investigations, day to day employment matters that arise in the course of doing business (e.g. noncompete agreements, high-risk performance management issues, military and medical leave accommodations), and counseling the company on enterprise-wide issues, including regulatory changes, and corporate policy and related practice implications. The AGC will represent the company before federal and state agencies in agency audits as well as in administrative charges, including preparing position statements. In addition the AGC will manage outside counsel in employment litigation matters.
