Spectrum Brands is seeking a Limited Term, Contract Attorney, to work 40 hours per week (additional hours possible based on mutual agreement) starting immediately. This role will be primarily responsible for reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide range of legal agreements.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Contract Attorney will complete work on the following categories and/or projects, including:
Non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements;
Retail broker/sales representative agreements;
Manufacturing and product supply agreements;
Independent contractor agreements;
Digital Marketing Influencer agreements;
Transportation agreement oversight;
Procurement agreements, including digital and data storage, software licenses, wireless and Internet agreements;
Service agreements, including consultant (tax, finance, human resources, marketing), information technology, and other third party vendor arrangements; and
Other legal projects as assigned by the Legal Department.
Education and Experience Profile
D. from an ABA-approved law school required with strong academic credentials preferred.
Admission to practice law in the State of Wisconsin, or other state of primary residence if working remotely.
The qualified candidate will have 5 years or more of experience in a corporate or law firm setting. Substantial experience required in drafting and negotiating agreements, legal analysis, and legal research.
Possess sound business and legal judgment, including the ability to discern levels of legal and business risk.
Willingness to be flexible and adaptive, with the ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Manage contract and corporate issues in a manner that protects the best interests of the company, as well as the company’s integrity, reputation, assets, officers, and employees, while ensuring the company operates in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Maintain the highest standards of ethics and professional integrity.
Ability to manage a variety of contracts and projects both independently and as part of a team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with executives and employees at all levels within the organization, including the ability to explain complex and risk analysis to both lawyers and non-lawyers.
Exhibit initiative and assertiveness including the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Superior organizational and interpersonal skills, with a strong attention to detail.
Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
