This position is for an attorney to join the Americas Legal Team in support of the Hitachi Vantara Americas organization. The position is primarily transactional and involves contracts drafting and negotiation. Additional responsibilities include managing outside counsel, providing support for investigations, delivering compliance training to the sales and other customer-facing organizations, as well as leading or supporting special projects, as necessary.
Providing legal support to the Americas Sales Organization by drafting and negotiating contracts, as well as helping facilitate the review and approvals process by other functional areas, in accordance with company policies.
Managing outside counsel with respect to Americas legal matters.
Advising on general corporate ethics and compliance issues and delivering compliance training to the Americas Sales organization.
Providing legal support to other departments as required.
Managing and supporting special projects on an as needed basis.
Law degree with bar admission.
Minimum three-five years relevant legal experience supporting business, preferably in the IT industry.
Anti-bribery/anti-corruption law knowledge (e.g., FCPA).
Business-oriented, practical approach, rather than pure legal technical ability; the capacity to business partner with a diverse group of internal clients.
Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision.
Ability to maintain a standard of integrity within the legal department.
Strong team player with the ability to work cooperatively with other attorneys on a global basis to produce results and support the business.
Excellent interpersonal skills. An individual who can work with a wide range of internal and external business and legal professionals, manage multiple priorities and major transactions with deadlines, and lead cross-functional negotiation teams.
Successful candidate must be a team-oriented professional with a “global” perspective and an enthusiastic, positive attitude. This person will have the personality to build constructive working relationships across the legal department and Hitachi Vantara business units for the benefit of the organization.
