Job Purpose: The Associate Counsel is responsible for ensuring that assigned corporate areas and tasks meet legal and regulatory requirements and that the legal interests of SageNet are protected. Core focus will be on assisting with day-to-day corporate transactions, including customer and vendor contract negotiations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Negotiate, draft, and review customer contracts
Negotiate, draft, and review vendor contracts
Assist SageNet in real estate transactions
Interpret the law, particularly as it applies to the satellite, technology, and/or telecommunications industries
Assist with regulatory filings as needed
Participate in the resolution of claims and disputes; prepare/negotiate settlement agreements; and support litigation matters
Negotiate, draft and review consultant and agent agreements
Participate in matters of corporate governance
Participate in mergers/acquisition activities
Work in a corporate office space productively
Be able to work in fast-paced, high-stress, and demanding work environment
Business casual dress work environment
Be able to respond to requests, emails, and phone calls outside of regular business hours
2-5 years relevant to the job functions
Excellent communication skills
Membership to the DC, Virginia, Maryland, or Oklahoma state bar required
Dynamic, Passionate, Outgoing, Personable, and Charismatic
Knowledge of Microsoft Office required
Law Degree from a bar-accredited law school required
