This position reports to the Vice President, Associate General Counsel.
Provide legal advice to the Company for all employment-related litigation matters in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico and USVI. Investigate, develop strategy and respond to charges of discrimination and other complaints filed with federal, state and local EEO agencies, OSHA, NLRB and federal and state departments of labor. Select, negotiate, and manage outside counsel representation and fee arrangements. Manage a multi-million dollar legal budget. Investigate and respond to pre-litigation, employment-related claims and demands made by current or former employees or customers. Review and respond to third-party subpoenas.
Monitor and anticipate trends in employment law to ensure compliance and reduce employment litigation.
Juris Doctor from accredited law school;
Membership in the Florida bar or other state bar with eligibility to be admitted as Authorized House Counsel in Florida;
Minimum 5 years of experience in law firm and/or corporate law department specializing in employment law; and
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and relationship management skills.
