This position will support the Siegfried Law Department to provide top-notch service and innovation to the growing business of The Siegfried Group. The ideal candidate will have experience in one or more of the following areas of focus: employment law, contract advice and management, compliance management, immigration law, and corporate governance. This position offers a unique opportunity to grow along with our business and solidify the systems and solutions necessary for continued success.
Typical responsibilities include the following:
Provide legal advice and support in the area of employment law:
Actively participate in legal matters involving employees.
Provide advice regarding performance evaluations and personnel decisions.
Oversee employment-related litigation.
Formulate, revise, and manage policies and procedures relating to numerous aspects of employment law and practice.
Guide the Firm regarding matters related to inbound and outbound restrictive covenants or similar contractual concepts.
Maintain a current in-depth knowledge with respect to all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Manage outside counsel and related costs for employment law services.
Develop and deliver employment education and training programs that facilitate compliance efforts.
Formulate creative business-oriented strategies and solutions to prevent employment legal issues.
Serve as key contact point and source of guidance for contract advice and management:
Maintain a current in-depth knowledge with respect to contract law.
Draft and/or review client and vendor contracts; identify and recommend solutions for any issues that carry potential exposure to the Firm.
Participate in client or vendor contract negotiation.
Provide legal advice and response to queries from Siegfried colleagues with respect to contract terms and issues.
Proactively identify and recommend remediation for areas that present legal risk to the Firm.
Provide critical direction regarding administrative and compliance objectives:
Maintain a current in-depth knowledge with respect to all applicable business and professional licensing laws and regulations.
Work with appropriate Siegfried colleagues to ensure compliance with all applicable business and professional licensing laws and regulations.
Facilitate immigration law compliance and organization:
Work alongside outside counsel, Siegfried colleagues, and other experts to support compliance with immigration laws among employee base.
Support corporate governance and intellectual property needs and projects for a growing private company:
Maintain corporate registrations, records, and minutes for affiliated companies as well as the Firm’s legal files and information databases.
Oversee the protection, prosecution, and maintenance of the Firm’s trademark portfolio.
Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications
Excellent academic credentials, including a law degree from a leading law school.
Minimum of (five) 5 years of practical experience in anticipated areas of focus:
contract advice and management;
immigration law; and
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
