Our client, an early stage, pre-public financial services/SaaS technology company, has retained Solutus Legal Search on an exclusive basis to assist the Company with its search for a Senior Commercial Counsel/AGC. This attorney will report directly to the General Counsel and will be responsible for managing the Company’s global commercial legal matters related to expansion into key geographic areas. The person in this role will advise business teams on the various legal issues and risks, business strategies, complex commercial deals and other issues related to technology transactions. Other duties include drafting and negotiating enterprise SaaS agreements as well as reseller, alliance, professional service, support, customer, partnership, OEM arrangements and vendor agreements. In addition, s/he will lead the legal expansion in key international jurisdictions and draft and negotiate a variety of complex technology transactions that are both domestic and international in scope. Strong experience with enterprise sales, and highly customized products and implementation activities is preferred. The ideal candidate has 8-12 years of commercial experience with a strong acumen in enterprise SaaS matters. Law firm experience is required. Excellent legal and business judgment, an athletic mindset and the ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment are also musts. This attorney will be a team player who can effectively collaborate with members of Legal and other functional groups, often building the operations of the company. S/he will also prioritize responsiveness and service to internal clients and have excellent communication skills.
