Our client, a leading media company is recruiting a 4 plus years transactional attorney who is passionate about their business and interested in working closely with the business teams to make changes in the media world. The attorney will be part of a small lawyer group that supports the media and international programming business. The primary responsibilities for the position are to review, negotiate and draft license agreements to distribute cable network programming (such as ESPN), local broadcast signals (such as CBS), premium programming (such as HBO), movie studio content (such as Warner Brothers) and other media content to the client's customers. Candidates who have prior experience drafting software licenses, SEC disclosure statements or merger & acquisition agreements have done well in this position. Deal volume is high and from time-to-time long hours (including weekend hours) will be required. An understanding of the media industry and prior experience negotiating content distribution agreements are pluses but not a prerequisite.
