Position Summary: The Senior Counsel for Labor and Employment is responsible for providing legal advice and guidance on a wide range of employment and labor related matters for MultiCare Health System and in close collaboration with MultiCare’s Human Potential (HP) department to include representing the organization in collective bargaining and serving as chief spokesperson for all union negotiations. The Senior Counsel provides day-to-day management of employment litigation, investigations and pre-dispute matters, advises on the terms of the various collective bargaining agreements, grievances, prepares for and conducts arbitrations and develops company related policies and programs related to represented employees.
Eight years of labor contract negotiating experience.
Six years of experience at a law firm and/or in-house corporate environment.
Strong understanding of Washington and federal employment and labor law.
Licensed to practice law in the state of Washington.
Juris Doctorate from a nationally recognized law school preferred.
