Norton Healthcare is seeking an accomplished attorney with 5+ years of experience in healthcare and contract law to join our legal team. As Assistant General Counsel, this position is responsible for providing legal advice and support to various internal customers seeking guidance with vendor agreements, including but not limited to, Information Systems, Professional Services, Laboratory, Pharmacy and Material Management. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated with a strong client service orientation and proven negotiation skills.
As Assistant General counsel, this position is responsible for providing legal services throughout the system. In this capacity, the individual will evaluate and respond to legal issues brought to the department by various internal customers including board members, officers, members of the medical staff, executive managers, supervisors, human resources, and clinical and non-clinical staff. The individual will coordinate and evaluate the work of outside counsel; monitor and promote the organization's compliance with all applicable laws and regulations so as to reduce the risk of financial loss to the organization; have broad discretionary authority to make and implement decisions on a system-wide basis.
Five years practicing health/employment law in either a law firm or corporate setting
