We are working with a Fortune 500 Corporation that has a need for an experienced (15+ year) transactional real estate attorney for an important position within their Company. This attorney will have some supervisory responsibility. This is a new role, created to internalize some of the functionality that is currently outsourced.
Compensation is very competitive for in-house.
This Attorney will provide senior leadership with effective advice on company strategies and implementation and manages the legal function, including a team of attorneys and legal professionals. This attorney is responsible for managing all aspects of the transactional legal function for a large region, including, but not limited to responsive legal advice on all day-to-day operating issues such as business agreements, contracts and other transactional documents. This position will play a critical role in supporting strategy execution and alignment of activities requiring legal support or advice across businesses. This Attorney is directly involved in complex business transactions, negotiating and drafting critical contracts
Serves as key lawyer/legal advisor on all business transactions, including but not limited to drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, easements, property transfer, financing and all other transactional documents.
Heavy volume of contracts to be negotiated presently and future contracts that are either in due diligence or pending a closing.
Review due diligence materials and reports.
Review and negotiate agreements; Prepare and review contract summaries, CC&Rs, HOA documents and closing documents; Review community master disclosure agreements.
Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited law school, excellent academic credentials.
Minimum of 12 years of related experience in major law firm or in-house experience for corporation with an emphasis on drafting sophisticated real estate documents. Experience managing attorneys and support staff in a corporate or firm environment.
Excellent Oral and Written Communication skills with an emphasis on contract Drafting Abilities.
