The General Counsel will be a trusted thought-partner and sage advisor on legal and related business on a wide range of strategic, tactical, operational, corporate and compliance issues and initiatives. Reporting to the CEO, the General Counsel will be a member of the executive leadership team and will actively participate in strategic planning and decision-making. The General Counsel must have a demonstrated ability to proactively develop practical, pragmatic, well-reasoned and analyzed solutions satisfying both business and legal interests.
CytomX is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing investigational Probody therapeutics for the treatment of cancer. By addressing some of the pressing needs in oncology today, CytomX is working to bring a new wave of cancer medicines in ways that other companies cannot. CytomX’s Probody therapeutics have the potential to solve the toxicity challenges of current antibody-based therapeutics – and deliver a new generation of highly potent and safer anti-cancer treatments to many more patients.

Competitive compensation package, consisting of a base salary, bonus and equity will be offered for this position, consistent with the candidate’s level of experience.
15+ years of legal practice gained through a combination of major law firm and in-house experience required, as is previous experience as general counsel of a public developmental- stage life sciences company. Experience at a commercial-stage biopharma company is an advantage.
