Crane Co. (“Crane”) has retained Major, Lindsey & Africa on an exclusive basis to conduct a search for an Assistant General Counsel to be located at its Stamford, CT office. Crane is an equal opportunity employer.
This role is responsible for providing a broad range of legal services to the Company, both directly and in conjunction with outside counsel, with a focus on drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, including government contracts, handling M&A transactions, bank financing, employment and intellectual property law issues. This position reports directly to, and works closely with, Crane’s General Counsel and will be a business partner who will collaborate effectively across the Company.

The Company has four business segments: Fluid Handling, Payment & Merchandising Technologies, Aerospace & Electronics and Engineered Materials. Minimum of 10-15 years experience as an attorney with a mix of top law firm experience and working in-house in a publicly-traded corporation (preferably a manufacturing company). Successful candidates will have experience with drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, including government contracts, handling M&A transactions, bank financing, employment and intellectual property law issues. Candidates must exercise initiative and possess a strong business acumen, attention to detail, excellent communication skills and the ability to engage personnel across all levels of the Company.
