Our client, a rapidly growing global pharmaceutical company with a fast paced culture, is seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Attorney. The position will be based in New York City. The Intellectual Property Attorney will be responsible for:
Conducting IP due diligence on assets for in-licensing
o Both small molecule and large molecule
o Medical devices (including mobile applications)
o Broad therapeutic areas in both primary, specialty and rare diseases
Reviewing and negotiating IP terms in agreements
o Including: Licenses, Material Transfer Agreements, Master Service Agreements
Patent preparation and prosecution for multiple subsidiaries
Managing existing patent portfolio for multiple subsidiaries
Trademark procurement and maintenance for multiple subsidiaries
Managing IP budget
Qualified applicants should have:
Minimum of 5 years of patent preparation and prosecution experience
Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific field, preferably chemistry, biology, biochemistry or chemical engineering. Biologics experience is not required but would be a plus
Juris Doctorate from a U.S. law school
Experience with In-Licensing
Previous experience with negotiating IP terms in agreements
Solid analytical and research skills
Great interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong attention to detail
Proficient at PowerPoint
