G&S has been exclusively engaged to assist a prominent, DC-based government contractor with global operations in connection with a newly created Government Contracts Counsel position. This counsel will support all of the company’s business segments (defense, intelligence and civil) and gain exposure to a range of projects. While the emphasis is on providing compliance advice, you will gain access to disputes, bid protests, and M&A due diligence matters Accordingly, our client requires a minimum of four years’ prior experience in procurement (contract review, structuring and advising, handling disputes with primes and subs, bid protests and compliance reviews) and strong knowledge of the FAR, DFARS, and other federal procurement regulations (e.g. cost accounting standards). The Counsel must be comfortable taking the lead on projects but will have the support of more senior attorneys within the department. The caliber of work reflects the newspaper headline making projects the company has underway and affords the opportunity to work with former policymakers now in the private sector.
