Reporting to the Vice President, Assistant General Counsel, the Associate Counsel provides broad-based legal support for Lowe’s as a member of the Technology and Innovations team in the Legal Department. This position will be responsible for counseling on a broad range of commercial and regulatory matters and structuring, drafting and negotiating commercial transactions. The position will work directly with the business on strategic deals, providing day-to-day advice, resolving issues that arise in existing commercial relationships and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries. This position will be responsible for structuring, drafting and negotiating complicated technology, licensing, joint development, consulting, SaaS, non-disclosure, service, and other commercial agreements and providing ongoing legal counseling in a wide range of legal areas, including intellectual property, digital media, and regulatory compliance.
This position must utilize a flexible approach to addressing a high-volume contract workload in a way that protects the company’s interests without slowing down the business and provide legal services in a way that displays legal excellence, attention to detail, a proactive and practical approach, and a dedication to customer service.
The successful candidate will have at least four years of relevant experience, and a background that incorporates in-house experience is preferred. Specific experience providing legal support to clients in the fast-moving technology space would be ideal. J.D. with strong academic credentials from an ABA accredited institution
Minimum of 4 years relevant experience
Licensed to practice law and in good standing in at least one state

Familiarity with information technology concepts and terminology, particularly current retail, marketing, and merchandising tools and strategies being used by innovative companies
Experience counseling on and understanding of legal issues related to the following areas: privacy, intellectual property, and data security
