Zachry Group is seeking an exceptional Attorney to join its corporate legal team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the legal needs of Zachry Group’s Employee Relations (HR) department. The attorney will advise on matters involving compensation and benefits, health and welfare plans, retirement plans, employment claims, Title VII issues, collective bargaining matters, immigration and global mobility, and on employee issues arising from the company’s foreign subsidiaries. The attorney will report directly to Zachry Group’s Senior Vice President and General Counsel.
Ongoing legal support to Zachry Group’s Employee Relations team
Provide practical legal advice and support on business and employee relations matters in a fast-paced environment
Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a variety of agreements
Coordinate legal research and analysis
Complete special projects and perform other related duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree and a law degree from an accredited law school
Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience at an A/V rated firm or a similar in-house role
Active membership and good standing with State Bar (Texas or any other state in the United States)
Excellent academic and professional credentials (top 25% of law school class)
Strong document drafting and negotiating skills
Superior verbal and analytical ability
Demonstrated ethical standards of the highest order
Ability to be collaborative, adaptive, and resourceful
Possess understanding of basic financial concepts
Capable of working effectively in a team environment
Ability to work in a challenging and rapidly changing business environment
Experience with a construction or engineering company or similar in-house experience
Experience making business decisions or advising on business matters
Experience with compensation and benefit plans, retirement plans
Experience working on international employment issues (e.g. supporting the legal needs of foreign subsidiaries)
Experience with labor matters and collective bargaining agreements
